EXPERIENCE
Prior to the establishment of Velikan 3, Vesselina’s experience was as follows:
• Jan 1999 to Nov 2001: Director of Marketing and Sales, Mobikom, Sofia. Mobikom is a telecommunications company 49% owned by Cable & Wireless plc, offering cellular telephony, paging, public payphone service, internet service provision and value added services with a turnover in 1999 of nearly $100 million. Responsible for team of 57, with direct responsibility for all marketing and sales activities to the Managing Director. Responsible for pricing policy both of products and services. Responsible for product purchases in excess of $15 million in 1999; ran advertising and promotional activities with a budget of $4 million in 1999; determined distribution policy – both direct and indirect. Made a major contribution to Mobikom’s profit before tax of some $18 million.
• Jan 1996 to Jan 1999: Head of Marketing, Mobikom. Managed marketing department structure and policies during a high growth period of the company’s activities, being the first Bulgarian in the post following C&W management team reduction. Developed and trained a fast-growing team.
• May 1993 to Jan 1996: Advertising Manager, Mobikom. Reporting to a US expatriate Head of Marketing, co-ordinated and planned Mobikom’s pre-launch and post launch activities, in particular focussing on image promotion.
• Dec 1986 to May 1993: Editor, Cultural Programmes, National Palace of Culture, Sofia. Responsible for overall organisation of a variety of events at a rate of ten to fifteen per month. Particularly specialised in Jazz and Rock promotion at a time when these were of questionable political acceptability. This formed the foundation of very close relations with all the prominent media, which has been used to good effect in all subsequent jobs.
